What We Do
Aishia Strickland is Beauty Blogger turned Licensed Cosmetologist. Aishia has made furthering her education and skills a top priority. In her short time as a stylist she has completed Cornerstone training with Curly Hair Artistry and Advanced Deva Curl Styling at the DevaCurl Academy NYC. She has also had the privilege to learn the Curl by Curl cutting technique from the Mother of Curls herself and author of The Curly Girl Handbook, Lorraine Massey.
Aeleise is a veteran cosmetologist and long time curl nerd based in Chicago, IL and Fayetteville, GA with occasional trips to LA/Oakland, CA. She is a Deva Advanced Stylist and Curly Hair Artistry member/educator that understands ALL the curls in the imaginary curl alphabet. She has essentially memorized the textured haircare aisles of Target and Cosmoprof and her work is featured in the creative campaigns for some of your favorite natural hair brands.
What Is Class Really Like?
In December of 2015, Aeleise & Aisha joined forces to create the #30DayHairDetox, an educational challenge for consumers about simple and easy natural hair care. Over 10,000 curlies and naturals signed up within two months. What began as a free 4 week email challenge has morphed into a 100+ pg ebook Wash Your Damn Hair, a robust consumer digital subscription community The Black Curl Magic Digital Salon, and live touring classes.
Over the last three years of working with tightly curly haired women around the country, we have come to the conclusion that there is desperate need for more licensed tight curl specialists. Potential Clients are driving across state lines and flying across the country seeking knowledgeable and trusted professionals to partner with. They're bypassing thousands of local salons, and likely yours too, in order to get the care they need. This is insane right?! Our goal in 2019 and beyond is to share the information and insights we have gleaned from working digitally and personally with thousands of tight curly clients.
Want To Get A Taste Of What A Digital Class With Us Is Like?
In October 2018 we did a free webinar for curl stylists about the 3 things stylists were doing to sabotage their earning potential. It's a window into the Cut It Kinky Hybrid and we drop gem after gem. Get into it by clicking above.
FYI Respect The Curl has been retired as of March 2019. Stay tuned for our new introductory course. And we shortened the Hybrid Intensive to six weeks.
